Selected websites, country profiles and organisationsCountry profilesThe Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade' s (DFAT, Australia) Country, Economic and Regional Information provides trade and economic data in addition to general information about each country. IMF country information provides full text statements of member countries on issues relating to the IMF and the country's economy. Also provides statistical data such as international reserves and each country's position in the Fund. The World Bank Group has extensive links to its information resources. See World Bank Key Development Data & Statistics, this data is drawn from the World Development Indicators Database. Data sources and technical notes are provided. OrganisationsDirectory of Economic, Commodity and Development Organisations is published by the staff of the IMF. Organisations are listed alphabetically with contact information and a brief guide about the organisations. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has extensive links to its publications and information resources, such as "The World Economic Outlook" The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) homepage provides extensive economic data and information on the member countries. Many documents are available in full text. United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has links to its project subsites, its annual publication such as the "World Investment Report". The World Trade Organization (WTO) a comprehensive up-to-date site on all aspects of trade matters; statistics, policy documents and links to many other related sites. Research organisationsNational Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM) is a research centre based at the University of Canberra (Australia). The research focus is on social and economic issues and many of the publications (discussion, conference and technical papers) are in full text. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is based in Washington, D.C. Established in 1943, its research areas are on economics and trade, social welfare, government tax, spending, regulatory and legal policies, US. politics, international affairs and US. defense and foreign policies. Its "Current Commentary" link provides all or selective full text articles of AEI's publications and programmes such as the Bradley Lecture series. Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE) is an interdisciplinary research project based at the University of California, Berkeley. BRIE's main research profiles are on factors which influence international industrial competitiveness such as technologies, markets, policies and strategies. Brookings Institution was founded in 1927 in Washington, D.C. The research profile of the institution carries a very wide range of issues relating to current public policies in economics, education, etc. Economic Policy Institute was founded in 1986. Its research focus is on living standards/labor markets, government and the economy, globalization and trade, politics and public opinion and sustainable economics. The site is updated weekly and provides full text articles to current US. and global issues. The Peterson Institute for International Economics is based in Washington, D.C. and was established in 1981. It research focus is on the study of international economic policy. The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is a private research organisation. Its homepage has links to its publications such as the working paper series and books in progress.
