Databases for postgraduate research students

  • ProQuest dissertations & theses  provides access to the abstracts of North American theses. It includes a smaller number of British, European and Australian theses. Database includes theses from 1861, however abstracts are only available from 1981.
  • Index to theses in Great Britain and Ireland provides abstracts for British and Irish Masters and PhD theses from 1970 onward.
  • Libraries Australia : the Kinetica search service provides bibliographic data and holdings of hundreds of Australian libraries with millions of entries for books, journals and items in other formats such as films, sound recordings, video recordings, maps, pictures, CDs, Braille and talking books, large print books, music scores, computer files and electronic journals.
  • Serials in Australian libraries : SIAL provides location details of serials in Australian libraries.
