Postal loans for off-campus students
Detailed loan conditions for all staff and students of Monash University.
- delivery to Australian addresses - some limitations apply if resident overseas
- books, videos and other items available for loan are mailed from the Victorian Monash University Library holding the item.
- Monash University Library pays outward postage, students pay return postage.
- items posted to you are your responsibility until they are returned to the Library.
- postal loans can be returned in person or posted to any Victorian branch library by the due date (not posted on the due date). If the postal service to your area is likely to require more than one week for receiving items, please advise staff when you request items.
- postal loans (apart from short loan items) may be renewed provided you have no overdue items and no-one else has placed a recall on the item. Items must be renewed before the due date

Ways to make a request if you do not have electronic access
Request via fax:
Contact Library services for off-campus students for paper request forms. Please provide:
- name
- ID number
- subject number
- full mailing address
- daytime telephone number (including area code)
- student status - undergraduate (U/G) or postgraduate (P/G)
- use a separate page for each item requested
If these are not on each request we cannot guarantee a quick response.
Tip: complete the personal details section on one form, and make photocopies for further use

In peak times, when the phones are very busy, the staff may only be able to search up to three book or journal requests per call.
Renewing loans
Loans may be renewed via the library catalogue, use the My
loans button.
