Loans for Monash University staff and students
You can borrow in person from any of the eight campus libraries.
All you need is your Monash ID card. You can also:

material which is currently on loan or on shelf at another campus.
It will be sent to the campus library of your choice for collection.
- renew (reborrow)
many items
- request a photocopy of a journal article held at another campus
via intercampus photocopy
- request loans and photocopies from other Australian or overseas
libraries via document
delivery (for staff and postgraduates only)
Off-campus students may also have:

- photocopies posted, faxed or delivered electronically.
For a summary of your borrowing rights see the borrowing
table (also available as text
only)

on the item this may be 7 days, 3 days or overnight
- essential reading material is placed in reserve collections.
These items are lent for a very limited time, often only to be
used within the library (see what reserve
loan conditions apply at each library).
Renewals
Most items can be reborrowed (renewed)
- to renew online, use the library catalogue My
loans button

of any Monash University Library
Holds, recalls and intercampus loans
If an item you would like is on loan or on the shelf at a different campus
you may place a hold for it. When it is returned it will be held for you at
the loans desk for 7 days only (uncollected items will be returned to the home
library). You will also be notified by email, or SMS (for
Monash staff, students
only) or you can check in My loans in the library catalogue.
Please limit concurrent requests to no more than 5 titles. Hold requests can
only be removed by library staff. Find out more about managing Holds.
Intercampus photocopies
Journals cannot be sent to another campus or lent on postal loan.
Instead, you can request a copy of a single article.
Off-campus students can also request a single chapter or 10% of
a book.
- staff, honours, postgraduate and off-campus students can have
the articles posted, faxed or delivered electronically.
- on campus undergraduates must collect their articles in person.
- undergraduates, other than those studying at Gippsland, must
pay a small fee for this service.
