Loans for alumni
Once you join
the library, you can borrow in person from any of the eight
Victorian campus libraries. To borrow, you need to show your
Monash borrowers card. You can also:
- use some electronic
databases (if appropriate membership has been purchased)
- renew (reborrow) items
- request material to be sent to your home campus by placing
a hold
- check your current loans via My loans on the library
catalogue

Renewals
Most items can be reborrowed (renewed)
- to renew online, use the library catalogue My
loans button
- to renew by telephone, phone +61 3 990 55054
- to renew in person, bring the items to the loans desk
of any Monash University Library
Holds
If an item you would like is on loan or on the shelf at a different campus
you may place a hold for it. When it is returned it will be held for you at
the loans desk for 7 days only (uncollected items will be returned to the home
library). You will also be notified by email, or SMS (for
Monash staff, students
only) or you can check in My loans in the library catalogue.
Please limit concurrent requests to no more than 5 titles. Hold requests can
only be removed by library staff. Find out more about managing Holds.
Please note: Library
fines accrue for overdue items for all library users. Avoid fines by:
- collecting a date due slip when you borrow
- regularly checking your My
loans in the library catalogue
- see making payments for how to pay
library fines
