Alumni databases

Conditions of access: these resources are strictly available to the registered alumni library member for private educational purposes only. Your password is not transferable. The library reserves the right to withdraw usage privileges if these conditions are not met. These resources will be available from most internet enabled computers, however the library cannot guarantee this in all circumstances due to security settings outside of our control.

ABI/INFORM dateline
Bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for articles from over 170 US local and regional business journals, newspapers and news magazines. It focuses on providing access to business information on large corporations, privately held companies, local start-ups, executive profiles, marketing, finance,and industry news not typically found in U.S. national news sources. Includes full text for selected titles.

ABI/INFORM global
This bibliographic database indexes and abstracts more than 1000 business-related (mainly US) professional, academic and industry journals. Covers all aspects of business. Includes full text articles for many titles from 1987. Not recommended for detailed information regarding most Australian businesses and the business environment.

ABI/INFORM trade & industry
Bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for articles from more than 1,000 business periodicals and newsletters with an industry and trade focus. Includes the latest industry news, product and competitive information, marketing trends, and a wide variety of other topics. Covers publications on every major industry, including finance, insurance, transportation, construction, and many more. Includes full text for selected titles.

AustLit
AustLit is a collaboration between eight Australian universities and the National Library of Australia providing authoritative information on hundreds of thousands of creative and critical Australian literature works relating to more than 75,000 Australian authors and literary organisations. Its coverage spans 1780 to the present day. AustLit indexes and describes Australian literature published in a range of print and electronic information sources. It also makes available selected critical articles and creative writing in full text.

  • Date coverage: AustLit includes material dating from European settlement in Australia (c.1780) to the present. Contemporary renditions of pre-1780 literary works will also be included when relevant.
Banking information source
News and information on trends and issues in the banking and finance industry (US emphasis). Includes full text for selected journals.

CBCA business
Bibliographic database containing citations and selected abstracts for articles from over 400 Canadian business journals, including trade journals, general business publications, academic journals, topical journals, and professional publications. Includes full text for selected titles.

CBCA education
Bibliographic database (formerly the Canadian Education Index) containing citations and selected abstracts for articles from over 400 journals which focus on Canadian information in the field of education. Academic, administrative, professional, and topical journals are all included, as are newsletters. It provides a source for those interested in teaching, educational research, and educational administration in Canada. Includes full text for selected titles.

Expanded Academic ASAP (access is restricted to a single user at a time)
Indexing and abstracting for more than 1500 scholarly and general interest journals, plus the New York Times and full text coverage of more than 500 titles. Subjects covered include agriculture, arts, business, communications, law, economics, education, engineering, history, languages, literature, philosophy and women's studies. (Note: if an error page is displayed, please delete the Gale cookies)
Health & medical complete
Indexing, abstracting and full text database that provides access to more than 380 medical and health journals covering all medical specialties, as well as titles suitable for the nonspecialist. Most of the journals are available in full text and many of the core 200 titles are also indexed in MEDLINE.

Pharmaceutical news index
This citation database indexes and abstracts about 20 specialized journals in the pharmaceutical, health care, biotechnology and medical device industries. Full text coverage of some journals is included.

ProQuest
Proquest is a leading electronic database providing indexing and abstracting of over 7,000 scholarly and general interest publications. It includes full text or full image coverage of more than 3,000 of these publications. It provides access to the combined information from a number of leading online databases which cover subjects including: business, law, education, computing, science, technology, engineering, arts, medicine, and religion.

ProQuest Asian business
This indexing and abstracting database provides access to news, commentary and information on business, management, trade and finance in the Asian region. Includes full text for selected journals.

ProQuest computing
This indexing and abstracting database provides access to computer journals which contain computer industry news, product reviews and, information on computer hardware and software, technology management and electronic commerce. Selected full text is included.

ProQuest education journals
This database contains over 600 leading journal titles on education, including primary, secondary, and university level topics, with most in full text. It includes the indexing and abstracts from H.W. Wilson's highly regarded Education Abstracts, and many more titles.

ProQuest religion
This database includes indexes and abstracts of periodicals on religious affairs and religious thinking, most also providing full text.

Bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for articles from more than 350 science and technology journals. Subject coverage includes computers, engineering, physics, telecommunications, and transportation. More than 260 journals are available in full text.

Proquest telecommunications
Gives access to over 100 journals, more than 80 of them offering full text; they all deal with telecommunications, mostly United States.

Scopus
Abstracting and indexing database of scientific, technical, medical and social science literature. Includes peer-reviewed titles from international publishers, Open Access journals, conference proceedings, trade publications, patent records and quality web sources. Seamless links to full text sources where the library holds a subscription.

SourceOECD
This database comprises books, periodicals, and statistical databases issued by OECD. It covers many themes: agriculture and food; education and skills; emerging economics; employment; energy; enterprise, industry and trade; environment and sustainable development; finance and investment; general economics and future studies; goverance; international development; nuclear energy; science and information technology; social issues and migration; statistics sources and methods; taxation; territorial economy; transition economics; transport; etc. Users can build their own tables and export them to Excel and other formats.
