Library users survey 2009

"The Library web site is easy to use"

What users said: What the Library is doing about it:
Importance: 6.22/7
Performance: 5.45/7
Gap: 0.77

"Please allow the possibility of accessing the Catalogue's 'Advanced Search' from the first page in the library website."

"Often difficult to find the thing you are after on the website. Most recent example was endnote. Had to open a lot of pages before I gave up and ended up just searching Monash's webpage for the link."

  • We are redesigning our web site
We have started by refreshing our front page based on feedback from the survey and insights from various usability studies. "Search" and "Advanced search" are now just a click away from the front page, as well as renewing or viewing your loans. The ability to log in to my.monash without an extra step is available. Help with improving your skills includes a link to online tutorials such as citing and referencing and Endnote. A more seamless way for enquiries via ask.monash has also been implemented.

"Our website is increasingly becoming the virtual Library and the access point to the catalogue and the Library’s resources and services available to our users. We endeavour to make it easy to use and its contents useful.“

Janette Burke
Director, Library Central Services
