Who responded
In total,
4133 responses were received representing approximately 7% of the total
student and staff body. This is an above-average number of responses
compared to other participating university libraries. This number of
responses provides a high degree of confidence in the results.
The number
of responses received is significantly more than the 2666 respondents for
the 2003 survey. The library branch used most often by library clients is
the Sir Louis Matheson Library (Clayton), with 1186 respondents. The vast
majority of respondents were undergraduates (66.0%), followed by
postgraduate course work students (16.6.%).
Not
surprisingly those who responded where generally frequent users of the
library.
