"More computers in the Hargrave library"

"Have more computer workstations available for catalogue, word processing and internet use, on each level."

"I recommend the Berwick library to improve their computers and increase their numbers".

  • We are providing more computers
Hargrave-Andrew Library will have another 80 computers for general use added as part of the refurbishment due for completion in semester 2, 2005. A new training room will also provide additional computers.
  • We have improved the computer/student ratio
In 2003 we set ourselves a goal of having a minimum computer to student ratio of 1:70. We have now achieved and in some libraries far exceeded this ratio. The average ratio is 1:45, however we continue to remain vigilant and will strive to install more computers in high demand areas within space constraints.

"As each of our libraries come up for refurbishment, improving access to computers is a high priority. Since 2003 we have made vast improvements to the number and placement of computers in our libraries. Express terminals will be clearly identified to facilitate quick searching of the catalogue".

Janette Burke, Library Director, Information Systems
