Library user's survey 2005Comparison to 2003 resultsOverall users perceive the library as performing better (see performance) and are more satisfied with the library. The same issues are of concern in 2005 as were in 2003, however improvements are indicated across most areas. Improvements in these areas can be attributed to actions taken as a result of the 2003 survey. Major issueThe number one issue for library users in 2003 is again the biggest area of concern for library users in 2005; number of computer workstations is adequate. While this issue is of continuing concern, it appears to have been somewhat alleviated by actions taken after the 2003 survey, with a reduced gap between perceptions of importance and performance of -0.36. Similar improvements were experienced for seven out of the ten top issues (see gaps). New issueA new issue has arisen; individual seating is adequate and there is a slight increase in concern with the library environment being conducive to study, born out in the comments section, where many respondents indicate quiet study has become more of a problem. Refurbishment activities at the Hargrave-Andrew Library may also have contributed.
