Why combine library and ITS facilities?

To provide a better, more convenient service and facility for users. A combined service desk provides answers to both library and IT questions; and resources, both electronic and print, are available in a single, purpose-built space.

How does it benefit users?

Library and computer lab users on the Berwick campus will benefit from:

• an up-to-date, convenient and user-friendly place to discover resources
• improved layout, better separating noisy and quiet areas
• choice of working collaboratively or alone, utilising technology and traditional library resources together
• access to a single, integrated service point
• staff 'roaming' the space, providing on-the-spot assistance, and
• improved security, furniture and laptop facilities.
