Alumni databases

Conditions of access

These resources are strictly available to the registered alumni library member for private educational purposes only. Your password is not transferable. The library reserves the right to withdraw usage privileges if these conditions are not met.

These resources will be available from most internet enabled computers, however the library cannot guarantee this in all circumstances, due to security settings outside of our control.

The following databases are currently available to Monash alumni who have purchased library membership:

ABI/Inform: Article citations and abstracts from more than 1000 leading journals published world wide and includes the full text for over 600 periodicals related to business and management.
Academic Research Library: Citation database with some full text articles from over 2000 periodicals in a broad range of general reference subjects including arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences
Accounting & Tax: Citation database with some full text articles from key publications published worldwide, including over 800 newspapers, business journals, dissertations and news magazines in the accounting, auditing and financial management subject areas
Applied Science & Technology Plus: Citation database with some full text articles from over 400 international English-language periodicals in the applied sciences and technology areas. Subjects covered include aeronautics, chemical engineering, computer technology and applications, electrical engineering, food and food industry, mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, physics, telecommunications and transportation
Asian Business: Abstracts, indexes, and full text articles from 81 journals covering the latest Asian business and financial information and includes key international publications such as the Far Eastern Economic Review and Asiaweek
Banking Information Source: Banking industry publications providing information about the financial services industry, banking and industry trends
Career & Technical Information: Abstracts, indexes, and full text articles from 420 journals covering all aspects of vocational and technical education
Education Complete: More than 550 titles on education, including primary, secondary, and university level topics, with nearly 300 in full text. It includes the indexing and abstracts from H.W. Wilson's highly regarded Education Abstracts, and many more titles
Expanded Academic ASAP (access is restricted to a single user at a time ): Indexing and abstracting for more than 1500 scholarly and general interest journals, plus the New York Times and full text coverage of more than 500 titles. Subjects covered include agriculture, arts, business, communications, law, economics, education, engineering, history, languages, literature, philosophy and women's studies. European Business: Indexing, abstracting and full text database that provides access to more than 120 journals covering business, economics, marketing and management. Most of the journals give access to full text. The material is predominantly European but there are some U.S. journals and some articles dealing with other parts of the world
General Science Plus: Indexes and abstracts of hundreds of scientific journals in Wilson's General Science Abstracts. Many also provide full text and images. It provides access to information in a wide range of scientific disciplines
Health & Medical Complete: Indexing, abstracting and full text database that provides access to more than 700 journals covering all medical specialties as well titles suitable for the nonspecialist. Includes hundreds of MEDLINE titles. Most of the journals give access to full text
Pharmaceutical News Index: Indexing and abstracts of about 20 specialized journals in the pharmaceutical, health care, biotechnology and medical device industries. About 4 of these journals also provide full text
ProQuest Computing: Indexes, abstracts (and in most cases full text) of computer journals in the field of database design, software development, web commerce, LANs, WANs, Intranets, and the Internet
Proquest Legal: Indexing, abstracting and full text database that provides access to law journals covering business law, civil law, criminal law and more. Most of the journals give access to full text. The material is predominantly U.S. but there are some journals and some articles dealing with other parts of the world
Proquest Religious Periodicals: Indexes and abstracts of periodicals on religious affairs and religious thinking, most also providing full text
ProQuest Telecommunications: Over 100 journals, more than 80 of them offering full text; they all deal with telecommunications, mostly United States
Social Sciences Plus: Indexing, abstracting and full text database that provides access to about 1,000 journals in the social sciences. Most of the journals give access to full text and images where available.
