Pharmacy Library to move back to permanent home

The Pharmacy Library is relocating to its refurbished home in the Manning Building on August 14 and 15, 2008.

On August 14, the library’s temporary site at 407 Royal Parade will close and the new-look library in Manning will open. Students will be welcome to use the study space and a limited number of computers during the two days.

Normal library services and computer availability will resume on Monday August 18.

“Rather than shutting down for a day which will leave students without any space to study, we decided a progressive relocation will allow us to offer limited services. While students will not be able to use all 67 computers yet, the larger study areas in the refurbished library will surely be appreciated by all,” said Maxine Cuskelly, Pharmacy Library manager.

Wireless access is available in the library for laptop use. There are separate areas for quiet and group work. A training room opens up for students’ use when there is no library class or workshop booked. A section in group study will be equipped with a whiteboard and serve as a flexible learning space.

The library has been designed to be technologically enabled, more adaptable to changing study styles, easier to navigate, modern and consistent in design and layout. A floor plan is available on the library website. The library has the same look and feel as the other refurbished branches such as the Hargrave-Andrew Library in Clayton and the Berwick Library and Learning Commons.
