Monash students and staff can now use Google Scholar to access electronic resources to which the Library subscribes, as a result of the Library’s Resource Discovery Framework project. Library electronic resources will now appear in Google Scholar search results and will be accompanied by the Check for full text link. In your Google Scholar search results,
On campus, Check for full text links will show in Google Scholar search results automatically, while off campus there are two ways of accessing this useful functionality. One method is to always connect to Google Scholar from the Library's Google Scholar page The second option is to set your Google Scholar preferences to use the Monash University - Check for full text service. Help with setting preferences is available. Check for full text technology was developed by Library staff in collaboration with the Australian Academic and Research Library Network Consortium (AARLIN) project. A related AARLIN development is Multisearch, a tool which allows combined searching of groups of databases. Key databases in a particular subject area can be searched with this technology as is demonstrated on a typical database subject page. The Library’s Resource Discovery Framework project which commenced in 2006 is designed to examine and implement the best approaches for resource discovery and provide simpler search access to library resources for library users. 18 June 2007 current news : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Need help?
