Improvements in library facilities |
||
| Over summer the Library has implemented improvements to facilities for students at several branches in response to issues raised by the Library Users Survey 2007. Caulfield Library, always busy with over a million visitors a year, has gained 72 student workstations for laptop use on Level 3 and new ergonomic adjustable chairs for individual study. Sir Louis Matheson Library, after a rearrangement of the ground floor, will have 20 additional student PC workstations as well as 16 additional computers in a new training room. Twelve power points have been installed in the basement for laptop users and new study chairs have been acquired. “While the demand on library resources and facilities is increasing, the space available is not. It is our challenge to make the best possible use of this space and to constantly improve seating where possible,” says Janette Burke, Director of Library Central Services. Berwick Library and Learning Commons has new flexible furniture for its group study room, and new chairs have been installed at Peninsula and Law Libraries. Refurbishment work is continuing on the CL Butchers Pharmacy Library space in the Manning Building at Parkville campus, with an expected completion date during Semester 2. The Pharmacy Library will continue to operate at its temporary location at 407 Royal Parade during Semester 1. 15 January 2008 current news : 2007 : 2006 : 2005 : 2004 : 2003 : 2002 : pre-2002 Need help?
