Library catalogue upgrade gives users more options

The Monash University Library catalogue "Voyager" has received an upgrade providing catalogue users with new customisable features.

The upgrade includes the new 'My Details' functionality that allows users to save searches, set up preferences, change download formats and renew loans.

The upgrade comes as users grow increasingly comfortable with conducting transactions and complex searches over the Internet explained Monash University Library Director of Information Systems, Janette Burke.

"The Voyager catalogue received a record amount of use in 2002, up 27.5 per cent from 2001, with a 25.2 per cent increase in requests for user information," Ms Burke said.

"Where users could previously view personal and loans information, now they can also use the features under 'My Details' to renew their loans at the click of a button, as well as being able to retain searches and settings."
