Element definition A reference to a related resource and also specifies the type of relationship.
Obligation Optional
Qualifiers isPartOf: one resource is a physical or logical part of another
isVersionOf: one resource is an edition of another resource by the same creator.
isFormatOf: one resource derived from another by a reproduction or reformatting technique.
references: one resource refers to another resource
requires: requires another resource for its functioning, delivery, or content and cannot be used without the related resource being present
replaces: one ressource supplants displaces or supersedes another resource.
isBasedOn: one resources is a performance, production, derivation, translation, adaptation or interpretation of another resource
Classification URI
Guidelines Use one of the AGLS defined qualifers to indicate the type of relation, but use it in one direction only. Do not assign metadata to lower level pages of a resource.[NLA]
For an online related resource or a link to the metadata for the related source generally use the URL and appropriate qualifier with SCHEME="URI". Use a text string or bibliographic citation instead of an URL if relationship is specific and useful for searching .
