Group or quiet study at Sir Louis Matheson Library

Group study rooms

Group study facilities are open access,and vary in location and size. There are:

  • Three rooms, accommodating two people per room, in the basement
  • Two rooms, accommodating up to ten people, in the basement
  • Two rooms, accommodating up to eight people on level one of the Information Services Building.
  • Two rooms, accommodating up to eight people on level one of the Information Services Building (contains TV, DVD player & video player) 
  • Two rooms, accommodating up to four people on level one of the Information Services Building (contains TV, DVD player & video player)

Groups can make a booking for private use of one of these rooms for a maximum of two hours, by appyling at the information point. At least three people must be present for a booking to be made for one of the four larger rooms.

A Monash University ID card must be presented at the appropriate library service point when booking. All rooms must be vacated at the end of the booked time. If a room is still vacant after 15 minutes, it may be re-booked.

Quiet study areas

Individual desks (with power) and tables are located around the library. Please respect the rights of other library users when using these desks and tables.

Lockers

Free lockers are available for students in the Matheson library. Four are allocated as daily lockers, the rest are available for three hours at a time. Apply for a key at the information point.
