Benefits of merging the collections

Why merge the two collections?

The merge will simplify an unnecessarily complex and difficult system for users. The 2009 Library User Survey identified finding print materials in the Matheson Library as an area for improvement.

The project will also involve the relocation of the periodicals collection to the current Undergraduate wing.

How will it benefit users?

Library users will benefit from:
  • finding materials more easily;
  • the breadth and depth of the collection all in one place; and
  • more space for collection growth.
