Visiting, searching and borrowing

Visiting

The collection and study facilities can be accessed by visiting the Hargrave-Andrew Library during opening hours. A specialist map librarian can be found at the Map area.

Searching

To discover materials in the collection consult the Inventory of the Map Collection. There are also two copies of the print version available in the Map Room.

Most materials held in the Map Collection are not listed in the library catalogue. However some atlases, directories and books about mapping, cartography, GIS and related subjects, may be found using the library catalogue.

Borrowing

Sheet maps and charts along with atlases and reference material may not be borrowed but are available for use in the Map Room. Sections of maps may be photocopied and a light table is available for tracing.

Most books are available for loan to Monash University staff and students, CAVAL and ULA borrowers and fee-paying members under standard loan conditions.
