Friends of Monash University LibraryEstablished in 1966, the Friends of the Monash University Library has as its objective to assist, encourage and promote the interest of the library. This is done chiefly through an annual tax deductible donation and through gifts of books, manuscripts or other materials of use to the library. To join the Friends of the Monash University Library complete the Membership / Donation Form (rtf 245kb). Benefits of being a Friend include invitations to talks given by visiting scholars or Monash staff - usually 4 to 6 per year. Recent talks have been on such topics as Jonathan Swift, James Joyce, French rare books and 19th century British book illustration. These often coincide with the launching of exhibitions of material. Friends of the Monash University Library donors are offered the opportunity to purchase a borrower's card for $88 (incl. GST). The $88 = $30 Friends membership + $58 library fee which entitles the holder to borrow a total of eight items for 14 days. (Note that high use, short-term loan items and periodicals are available only to Monash staff and students.) Need help? Library frequently asked questions and online
