This is a collection of short
stories with a cricket setting, most notable for its finely illustrated cloth
cover showing a cricket ball and a set of stumps. The frontispiece of a lady
cricketer, dressed in full skirts and boater, about to execute a straight drive,
is also interesting. This copy belonged to Hugh Trumble, the captain of the
Australian team in 1901-02, and has his signature.
