This was Elizabeth Jolley’s first novel. The plot centres on the love between two women. The first edition is rare having been withdrawn as the result of a dispute between the author and the publisher over royalties. It appeared in the same year published locally by Outback Press, but these are equally as rare. University of Queensland Press brought out the first generally available edition in 1984.
