Promotional brochures
On display is a selection of brochures for household
appliances, fashion and furnishings. These include one for the classic early
1950s Kelvinator. For many this was the first fridge superseding the ice chest.
A more recent brochure is “Turning your gas supply
back on safely”, issued in 1998 by the Victorian Government in the aftermath of
“the tragic explosion at Esso’s Longford processing plant on Friday September
25.” The gas supply was turned on again in Victoria on 14 October.
