The anti-PKI magazine, Api (Fire), first appeared in the aftermath of and as a response to the G30s coup. This collection of unsigned articles and cartoons, compiled by the editorial team of 'Api', is dedicated to the memory of the murdered generals. The first article in the book was written on 1 October 1965. "Nekolim" stands for Neo-colonialism, Colonialism and Imperialism, and was a slogan of the guided democracy era. "Gestapu" was an alternative name for G30S (GErakan September TigAPUluh) and deliberately alluded to the Gestapo of Nazi Germany.
