2. Outhwaite, Ida Rentoul, 1888-1960.Fairyland of Ida Rentoul Outhwaite / verses by Annie R. Rentoul ; stories by Grenbry Outhwaite and Annie R. Rentoul. Edition-de-luxe. (Melbourne : Ramsay Publishing, 1926) Fairyland, another local production was her other major publication. It was republished in London by A. & C. Black in 1931. By the 1930s fashions were changing, and Ida, although a successful illustrator and artist, with annual exhibitions between 1916 and 1928, found her books were becoming less popular. Also on display are some examples of her commercial art, a box she designed for birthday candles, and a brochure, "The sentry and the Shell fairy," she produced for Shell Oil Co. |
