Jonah / by Louis Stone. 1st. cheap ed. (Sydney : Allied Authors and Artists, 1945)

Louis Stone was a Sydney teacher who lived for a time in the tough suburb of Waterloo where he gathered the material for Jonah, his novel of the “larrikin push”, first published in 1911. It was popular and went through several editions both here and in America. On display is a paperback edition with a cover design incorporating a Lindsayesque sketch of a larrikin.
