Jas Duke was essentially a performance poet. He was born in Ballarat but left Australia in 1966 to live in the US and the UK until he returned to Melbourne in 1972. Duke was a draftsman with the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works. This self-produced work is done in various coloured pens on MMBW blue-print paper. It is accompanied by a letter to Melbourne avant-garde film-makers, Arthur and Corinne Cantrill. The letter was meant to introduce himself to them and ends,
By the way I am totally bald. Does that worry you? It seems to worry a lot of people for some reason, LOVE.
