PubMed
First check Filter and
connection files for updated filter or connection files. Also review
the help files within the database.
Direct export
Direct export is not available
Import via filter file
- Select desired references
- Select MEDLINE from the pull-down list next to Display tab
- Select File from the Send to drop-down
menu.

- When prompted, save the records as a text file (eg 'pubmed-results.txt')
- Open EndNote and select a library (File - Open)
- Select File - Import
- An Import box opens:
- Import data file: select Choose File and select
file saved at Step 4
- Import Option: pull down menu and select Other filters.
Select the PubMed(NLM) filter.
- Select Import
- Records should be imported into the library and displayed in a separate
window
Connecting from Endnote to PubMed
- From Endnote toolbar select Tools - Online
search - New search. (Note: in ENX and
earlier versions select Tools - Connect - Connect)
- Select the appropriate connection file from the list and select Choose.
(In ENX and earlier versions, select Connect) The
EndNote search page opens.
- Perform search. When a search is finished a Confirm Remote
Search textbox opens with details of results. Select OK
- References are now displayed. Select required reference/s.
- Select the Copy # References To button. Select the
desired library from the drop-down menu. The references are now transferred
into the library.
- Select X at the top right hand screen/s to close
the connection and library.
