Although multiple Informit databases can be searched at the same time, to download records into Endnote each database must be searched and records downloaded individually because the record structure in each is different.

First check Filter and connection files for updated filter or connection files.

Direct export

From an individual database directly export citations in to an EndNote library.

  1. Mark the records you wish to download
  2. Click Save
  3. Select Marked Records or alternate option under 'Records to Save'
  4. Leave the defaults for Fields to Save and Field Label Format
  5. At Output Format choose 'EndNote Direct'
  6. Click Save Records

  7. At the Windows dialog box click OK
  8. EndNote program should open, choose a Library to receive the downloaded records

Note: some databases work better than others in accurately mirroring the record fields in an EndNote Library. It may be necessary to edit some references
