Direct export

There is no Direct Export option for CSA.

Import via filter file

  1. Mark records.
  2. Select Update Marked List at the top of the records list.
  3. Select Save, Print, Email at the top of the records list.
  4. Select Use [#] Marked Records (default), Full format, document format as Text, file format as PC.

  5. Save.
  6. At the File Download dialog box, Save.
  7. At the Save as dialog box, save as type 'Text Document'. Save.
  8. Close window.
  9. Open Endnote library.
  10. From the File menu select Import.
  11. At Choose File, browse to the file you created and Open.
  12. At Import Option dropdown list select previously installed CSA filter.
  13. Select Import, citations are displayed separately from library but are automatically incorporated.

Special comments

PAIS International (CSA) works for all databases that do not have their own filter file. Some details are not input properly, for example full citation details appear in the Journal field in some databases.

Connecting from Endnote to CSA databases for EndNote X

  1. Locate and download the appropriate connection files from the Filter and connection files page
  2. Typically save connection files to C:\Program Files\Endnote\Connections\
  3. To connect to the database select Tools > Online search > New search
  4. Select your connection file, select Choose
  5. Select your connection file, select Connect.
  6. When you are connected a search form appears, enter search terms and select Search.
  7. When the search is completed, a dialog box appears telling how many records are retrieved, select OK.
  8. The records displayed are not yet in your library, select the ones you wish to keep using CTRL and mouseclick (or drag-and-drop).
  9. At the top of the records list select Copy [#] References To, select the library you wish to put the records in.
