Book description
Arthur Miller (1915 - 2005) was a lifelong and outspoken
defender of all artists, whom he believed to have a social role to be
politically critical and to challenge public ideas. He is famous for
being the husband of Marilyn Monroe and a prolific writer, whose best known
plays, Death of a Salesman (1949) and The Crucible (1953),
have been made into feature films.
The Crucible has never been out of print and is performed frequently
all around the world. It highlights the political aspects of the
United States in the 1950s during the Cold War. This text guide gives
a summary of the play, the roles of the characters and the relationship/
interactions between them.
