This text book has been specifically written for business
students taking a financial modelling approach to the basics of accounting
accumulation, and the analysis and use of accounting numbers in financial
decision making. Students are introduced to the basic and advanced features
of financial modelling via spreadsheets, and this knowledge is then applied
in a variety of models including accounting cycles, risk analysis, financial
statement analysis, product costing, cost-volume-profit, sensitivity
analysis, forecasting, financial mathematics and cash and capital budgeting.
The book is specifically suitable for MBA students wishing to gain an
understanding of the cause-effect relationships in financial numbers.
About the author
The four authors of this book are currently working at Monash
University, Melbourne.
