Book description
When Delia Bradshaw's mother died, she knew their relationship
had not come to an end. She knew she had to write something about this
most fundamental of all relationships.
Becoming Fine is Delia's account of a mother-daughter
relationship, told from the adult daughter's perspective. It explains
how, for the first time in her life, in mid-life, she summoned the courage
to re-form a relationship that for her had been half-hearted for too long.
Told largely through extracts from her journals, Delia's story includes the
agonising moments, the hard-won insights and the painful decisions.
This tale of many seasons is a journey from alienation to reconciliation,
from rumblings through turbulence to calm.
About the author
Delia Bradshaw loves Melbourne, the city where she has spent most
of her life. Her commitment to adult education there has resulted
in many professional publications. Becoming Fine is her
first personal work to be published.
