About the Editors
Associate Professor Jenny Hocking is Director of the National Key Centre for Australian Studies at Monash University.
She is the recipient of the Australian Research Council's QEII Research Fellowship (1999-2005).
Associate Professor Jenny Hocking is author of Lionel Murphy: A Political
Biography (1997), and Beyond Terrorism: the Development of the Australian
Security State (1993).
Dr Colleen Lewis is Head of Criminal Justice and Criminology and Co-director of the Parliamentary Studies Unit at Monash
University. She is the author of the book Complaints Against Police: The Politics of Reform
(1999) and co-editor of the books Civilian Oversight of Policing: Governance, Democracy and Human Rights
(2000), Un-Peeling Tradition: Contemporary Policing (1994), and Corporate Management in Australian Government
(1989).
