Book description
Matchbox Dreams is a diverse and exciting collection of short stories written by young writers at Monash University.  The stories have been chosen for their sensitivity to human experience beyond the boundaries of culture, race and gender: the grief, joy and wonder that binds us all to each other.  The fantastic and mundane, the beautiful and the terrifying, are all celebrated here as the inseparable and undeniable facets of living.
The book is dedicated to the victims of the Monash shootings on 21 October 2002.

About the author
Katharine Aitken has just completed her Honours year at Monash University.  Originally from Edinburgh, she moved to Australia where she completed a Communications degree at Newcastle University.  Katharine has had two stories: 'Love on a Tuesday' and 'God's Advice', narrated on ABC radio.
