About the Author
Andrew Markus, a professor of history at Monash University. His primary research interests are in the fields of Australian race relations, racial thought and immigration history. Professor Markus other publications include Governing Savages, Australian Race Relations 1788-1993 and co-editor of The 1967 Referendum and The Struggle for Aboriginal Rights.
