A history of the book in Australia 1891-1945 is
a collection of essays and case-studies, contributed by academics, librarians,
freelance writers and book-trade practitioners, exploring all aspects of the
print culture of Australia in the period from the 1890s to the Second World War. It covers colonial times, when most books were imported from British
publishers, to the evolution of pioneering publishers like Angus & Robertson.
