About the Author

Dr. Karen Malone is a Senior Lecturer in Science and Environmental Education at Monash University and the Asia-Pacific Director, UNESCO-MOST Growing Up In Cities project Dr. Malone was nominated for the Allen Strom Eureka Prize for Environmental Education for her work in establishing better communication lines and partnerships between young people, government officials and urban planners in 2000.
