Drop-in sessions, open to all students, are 15 minute sessions where you can discuss an aspect of your studies with an adviser. Learning skills advisers can help you with: academic reading/writing, citing and referencing, exam preparation, note-taking, argumentation skills, preparing for tutorials, and study skills. Librarians can assist you in searching for relevant resources for your assignment or research topic, evaluating and managing your resources and citing and referencing. All sessions will be held at the Research and Learning point in the library. There is a waiting area located near the Research and Learning point; students will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Sessions of interest for postgraduatesA series of workshops in which we demonstrate resources of particular interest to postgraduates and give you time for hands on practice. For all of the following sessions, book online via my.monash or ring 990-55054.Learning Skills classesA range of postgraduate learning skills classes on topics such as writing for literature reviews, academic essays, academic presentation skills, reflective writing, and critical thinking will be available in the library class booking system. Select Matheson library from the first drop-down menu.Introduction to EndNoteDiscover how to use EndNote to organise your references and to create bibliographies automatically. Learn how to build an EndNote library manually and by importing references from Library databases. Work with appropriate citation styles for your discipline, and learn how to apply the styles in Word documents. Minimum 6 bookings required for class to run.
